Oh boy! My son requested that I read this book to him FOUR times in a row and there is not a single construction vehicle in it.
This book is about a boy that wants a pet and finds a turtle. The boy names the turtle Melvin and you read about Melvin’s reaction to being a pet and how the boy decides to let the turtle go.
After reading this book four times in row, my son said, “I like that book a lot!” We’ll probably read it again tomorrow several more times.
But this is a wonderful, simple, and very honest book. Both my son and I love it. I even enjoyed reading it over and over again. Sometimes I cringe when my son asks for a particular book to be read again, but not this one. It is a joy to read. I’m looking forward to reading other books by this author.
